It is observed on the second Thursday of March every year.   

Theme: "Are your kidneys, ok? Detect early, protect kidney health." 

History  

  • It was first observed in 2006. 
  • The campaign was initiated by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF). 
  • Its main objective is to raise awareness about kidney health and reduce the burden of kidney disease and related health issues. 

Significance
