December 26 is observed as "Veer Bal Diwas" to honor the bravery of the Sahibzades, the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh, the last Sikh Guru.
Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh
- Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh are highly revered Sikh martyrs.
- In 1704, Mughal forces besieged Anandpur Sahib on Aurangzeb's orders, capturing the two sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
- They were offered freedom if they converted to Islam but refused and were bricked alive.
- They chose death over compromising the principles of Dharma.
