About Thangjing Hill
- Location: Thangjing Hill is a mountain peak located in the Churachandpur district of the Indian state of Manipur, situated west of Moirang.
- Geographical Importance: The range is part of the western border of the Imphal Valley.
- Cultural Significance: It is a sacred hill, believed by Manipuris to be the abode of Thangching, the ancestral deity of Moirang.
- The Meitei community of the Moirang region performs an annual pilgrimage to the hilltop.
Hydrological Importance
- Streams from the western slopes flow into the Leimatak River, which moves north to join the Irang River.
- The Tuila River rises to the south and joins the Tuivai River, a major river of Churachandpur district.
