Why in News? 

In her 8th Union Budget speech, the finance minister announced the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, a scheme to develop agricultural districts. 

About 

• This new initiative aims to support farmers in 100 regions struggling with low crop yields and limited financial access. 
• Implemented in partnership with state governments, the scheme will cover 100 districts and benefit around 1.7 crore farmers. 
• It seeks to create rural opportunities so that migration remains a choice, not a necessity.
