- On 8th April 2025, India celebrates 10 years of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY).
About Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY)
- It is a flagship scheme launched in 2015 to provide collateral-free loans to micro and small enterprises.
- As of today, over 52 crore loans worth ₹32.61 lakh crore have been sanctioned, empowering entrepreneurs across rural and semi-urban India.

- Implementing Agency: MUDRA (Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency)
- Loan Type: Collateral-free loans up to ₹20 lakh
- Lending Partners: Banks, NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies), MFIs (Micro Finance Institutions), and RRBs (Regional Rural Banks)
Objectives
- To "Fund the Unfunded"—providing formal credit access to non-corporate small businesses.
- To shift the focus from job-seeking to job-creating, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
- To promote financial inclusion and strengthen the Micro-Enterprise ecosystem.
