NTPC Launches Hydrogen-Fueled Bus and CO2-to-Methanol Plant on its 50th Foundation Day
Environment & Ecology
Why in the News?
NTPC successfully synthesized CO2 captured from flue gas with hydrogen produced from a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer, which was then converted into methanol. The company has also developed its first indigenous methanol synthesis catalyst. This milestone is seen as a historic achievement in carbon management and the production of sustainable fuels.
