Why in the News?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Nigeria’s ‘Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger’ award, dedicating it to India. During his visit, the first by an Indian PM in 17 years, he announced 20 tonnes of flood aid for Nigeria and congratulated it on joining BRICS. MoUs were exchanged, focusing on strengthening India-Nigeria ties.
