- Originates from British-era youth organizations like the University Corps.

- Falls under the Ministry of Defence, led by a three-star rank Director General.

- Open to students at high school and college levels.
- Cadets earn certificates after completing various training phases.

- Basic military training along with an academic focus on armed forces.
- Involves training camps, adventure programs, and military drills.

- Cadets have played vital roles in disaster relief efforts over the years.
- During the pandemic, 60,000 cadets assisted in voluntary relief operations across the country.
