• The Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025 is passed by the Parliament. 

Key Points: 

• Objective: To update and modernize immigration laws, enhance national security, and improve the coordination of immigration authorities in India. 
• Repealed Acts: 
  • Passport Act, 1920 
  • Registration of Foreigners Act, 1939 
  • Foreigners Act, 1946 
  • Immigration (Carriers' Liability) Act, 2000 
• Immigration Regulation: The newly formed Bureau of Immigration will be responsible for overseeing visa issuance and entry-exit regulations.
