About Hindi Diwas

• It is celebrated annually in India on 14^th September.
• It is an important day to promote the Hindi language.
• This day reminds us of our cultural heritage and makes the new generation feel proud of their mother tongue.
• On this day in 1949, the Constituent Assembly recognized Hindi as the official language of India.
• In Part XVII (Official Language), Article 343 (1): Official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devnagari Script.
• The first Hindi Diwas was officially celebrated on September 14, 1953.
• Hindi Diwas not only symbolizes the prestige of the Hindi language, but it also symbolizes the cultural unity of the country.
