Why in News? 

• The Fiscal Health Index (FHI) has been developed by the NITI Aayog using data from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) for the financial year 2022-23.

• Scope: The FHI covers 18 major states contributing significantly to India's GDP, demographics, public expenditure, revenues, and overall fiscal stability.
