First Pakistani Woman Nominated as International Cricket Umpire

Why in the News?

Saleema Imtiaz has made history by becoming the first Pakistani woman to be nominated to the ICC International Panel of Development Umpires, according to an announcement by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday. Her inclusion on the panel qualifies her to officiate in women's bilateral international matches and ICC women's events.
