Why in the News?  

The 4th  edition of the India-Malaysia Joint Military Exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI commenced on 2nd December 2024, at Bentong Camp in Malaysia’s Pahang district. This annual training initiative will run until 15th December, 2024. 

About the Exercise 

  • It is an annual joint military exercise alternately hosted by India and Malaysia 
  • It aims to strengthen the military capabilities of both nations, particularly in counter-insurgency operations in jungle terrain under Chapter VII of the United Nations Mandate.
