About Earth Day 2025 

• April 22, 2025, marks the 55^th edition of World Earth Day.  
• This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” aims to achieve the “triple clean electricity” target by 2030 through the widespread use of renewable energy.  

Background of Earth Day 

• Earth Day was founded in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson of the United States.  
• Since then, April 22 has been commemorated as Earth Day each year, marking a day dedicated to raising awareness and fostering actions towards environmental protection.
