- Dokra (or Dhokra) is an ancient metal casting craft using the lost wax technique, dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization.
- Known for being one-of-a-kind due to the single-use mold process.
- Every piece is handcrafted, making it unique and non-replicable.
Origin & Practice
- Named after the Dhokra Damar tribes.
- Practiced by Gadwas, Gonds, and Dhurwas tribes in Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand.
- Recognized for its tribal themes, folk motifs, and utility items.
