On May 8^th each year, the world celebrates World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day in honour of Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Henry Dunant was born on May 8th, 1828, in Geneva and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
This day commemorates the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent movement, which aims to provide aid to those affected by war, natural disasters, epidemics, and food shortages.
On this occasion, various organizations, including governments and private entities, actively participate in providing essential resources and support to those in need. Their efforts aim to alleviate the suffering of individuals affected by various calamities.
This year the theme for World Red Cross Day or Red Crescent Day is "Everything we do comes #fromtheheart."

France has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the annual Bastille Day parade as a guest in July. However, the visit is still being discussed. The proposed visit is expected to take place around July 14 and would be an addition to Mr. Modi's busy diplomatic schedule.

The government of Uttar Pradesh has given its approval for the establishment of the first Pharma Park in the state, which will be located in Lalitpur district of Bundelkhand.
The proposed project will involve the transfer of 1500 hectares of land from the Animal Husbandry Department to the Industrial Development Department.
The government has also allocated a budget of Rs 1560 crore to develop and provide necessary facilities for investors in the Lalitpur Pharma Park.
