• The day aims to create awareness about the struggles faced by millions of people who do not have access to proper nutrition.
• The theme for the day 2024 is Thriving Mothers.

NASA Launched Satellite PREFIRE

• NASA launched Satellite PREFIRE (Polar Radiant Energy in the Far Infrared Experiment) to Monitor and Mitigate Climate Change.
• The PREFIRE mission consists of two shoebox-size cube satellites, or CubeSats, that will measure the amount of heat Earth radiates into space from the coldest and most remote regions on the planet.

Poonawalla Fincorp and IndusInd Bank Launched Co-branded Rupay Credit Card

• Poonawalla Fincorp Limited and IndusInd Bank jointly launched the co-branded IndusInd Bank Poonawalla Fincorp eLITE RuPay Platinum Credit Card.
• The card has no joining or annual fee and customers will earn rewards for every ₹100 spent, including UPI transactions, the company said.
• It offers 2.5 times reward points on e-commerce transactions and cash credit of ₹0.40 per reward point.

Wipro Partnered with IISc on Ai-driven Health Innovations

• Wipro Limited partnered with the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to develop AI-driven technologies.
• The partnership aimed at improving health behaviors and managing long-term health disorders.
• It will leverage artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and big data analytics to provide precision support for health and wellbeing on a population scale.

Dipa Karmakar Won Gold in Asian Senior Championships

• Dipa Karmakar won a gold medal at the Asian Senior Championships and clinched the title in the women’s vault.
• This is the first time that an Indian gymnast has won a gold medal in any event at the Asian Championships.
