World Sparrow Day 2024

• World Sparrow Day is annually observed on 20th March.
• The day aims to rally people worldwide to provide a sparrow-friendly habitat with ample nesting spots, clean environments and easy access to food and water sources.
• The theme of the day 2024 is Sparrows: Give them a tweet-chance, Love Sparrows and We Love Sparrows.

Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan Appointed as Governor of Telangana

• Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan appointed as the governor of Telangana.
• He succeeded Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.
• He has also been given additional responsibilities as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

Vinay Kumar Appointed as New Indian Ambassador to Russia

• Vinay Kumar, an Indian Foreign Service officer appointed as the new Ambassador of India to Russia.
• Currently, he is serving as an Ambassador of India to Myanmar.

Raksha Mantri Trophy 2022

• Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune and Command Hospital (Central Command), Lucknow awarded Raksha Mantri Trophy for the Best and Second-Best Command Hospitals respectively.
• The award was awarded for Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) 2022.
• The Trophy was instituted in 1989 to recognize the excellence in healthcare services by Armed Forces Hospitals.
