Narendra Modi begins third term as the Prime Minister of India

  • Narendra Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister at Rashtrapati Bhavan, becoming the only second after Jawaharlal Nehru to secure a third consecutive term.
  • President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of the 72-member Union Council of Ministers.

SEBI Won Best Business Regulator Award

  • Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) won the Best Conduct of Business Regulator award for the Asia-Pacific area.
  • The award was given by The Asian Banker for its role in enhancing the regulatory framework for securities markets in India.
  • SEBI is a statutory body, established in the year 1992.
  • Its powers and functions are to protect the interests of investors and regulate the securities market.

Carlos Alcaraz Won Maiden French Open Title

  • 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz wins his first French Open and third Grand Slam by defeating Alexander Zverev.
  • Since 2000, he is the only second man to win the French Open title before turning 22.
  • Rafael Nadal did it first from 2005 to 2007.

Puja Tomar Becomes First Indian Fighter to Won UFC

  • Puja Tomar won the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC) for mixed-martial arts in the country.
  • She became the first Indian fighter to win in the UFC by defeating Rayanne dos Santos from Brazil.
