CISF Raising Day is observed annually on March 10 to acknowledge the contributions of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in securing critical infrastructure in India.
In 2025, India marks the 56th CISF Raising Day, with a ceremonial event held in Thakkolam, Tamil Nadu.
The event is attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Dr. L. Murugan, and CISF Director General Shri Rajvinder Singh Bhatti.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was established on March 10, 1969, under the CISF Act, 1968.
Initially, the force started with three battalions and a strength of 2,800 personnel.
Over time, it has expanded significantly and currently has a personnel strength of approximately 1,88,000.

CISF is responsible for the security of key government and private sector infrastructure, including:
- Airports and Metro Networks
- Atomic Energy Plants & Space Research Centers
- Ports and Industrial Hubs (Petroleum, Coal, Steel, etc.)
- Government Buildings and Historical Monuments
- Major Public Events and VVIP Security
The force plays a crucial role in maintaining national security and ensuring economic stability.

Parades & Ceremonial Events: Grand parades, flag hoisting, and military drills are conducted.
Awards & Recognition: CISF personnel receive awards for bravery and outstanding service.
Skill Development & Training: Special training programs and workshops are organized.
Cultural Performances: Music, dance, and speeches highlighting the CISF’s achievements.
Community Service Initiatives: Blood donation drives, health check-ups, and awareness campaigns are held across the country.
