Common Seat Allocation System Portal for DU(UG)

Introduction of the CSAS Portal

Delhi University (DU) launched its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal marking the beginning of the undergraduate admission process for the academic year 2024-25.

New Supernumerary Quota

A new supernumerary quota is introduced in Delhi University. Under this quota, one seat will be reserved for a single girl child in each class across all departments in the university’s colleges. Last year, the university introduced a similar supernumerary category to provide admissions for orphan students, one male and one female, in each program of each college.

Admission Details and CUET Requirement

"Admissions will open for about 71,000 seats across 79 programmes in undergraduate courses. A total of 183 subject combinations are available in BA programmes across 69 colleges. Admission to these programmes is based on the merit score obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)".

Two-Phase Admission Process

  • The undergraduate admissions process is scheduled to occur in two phases. The first phase, which began on 28th May, requires candidates to fill in their personal details, Class XII academic scores, and CUET application number.
  • The second phase will commence with the declaration of CUET results and will require candidates to fill in their programme and college preferences. The university will then conduct several seat allocations rounds to fill the available seats.

Subject Mapping and Eligibility

“Candidates will have to map the subjects studied by them in Class 12 to the subjects in which they have written their CUET exams. DU will only consider those CUET papers which are the same or similar to the subject studied by the candidate in school,”.

Maximizing Admission Opportunities

Candidates will be able to see their cumulative marks for every programme they are eligible for based on the subject-mapping details provided. The candidates should select the maximum number of programmes to avail the maximum benefits under the CSAS admission policy.
