CUET UG Eligibility for Specific Courses

For appearing in the CUET (UG) , there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (UG) examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfil the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Organization in which they are desirous of taking admission.

Eligibility criteria for CUET UG vary depending on the specific courses and participating universities. Here's a general overview of how eligibility might be structured, but you should check the official CUET UG information bulletin and individual university websites for precise details.

  1. Total subjects: 61 (33 languages, 27 domain-specific, and 01 General Test) 
  2. Choice of Test Paper: Maximum 6 Test papers (4 or 5 domain subjects including General Test and 1 or 2 languages). Candidates may choose a maximum of 6 Subjects including languages (Indian and Foreign) and General Test.
  3. Medium of the Test: Candidates can appear for CUET in any one of the 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu) 
    • Note: It is advisable for candidates to select at least one language
  4. Mode of the Examination: Hybrid mode (Pen & Paper + CBT).
    • Note: The mode of examination will depend on the candidate count after the registration is Completed.

Eligibility Criteria:-

  • Undergraduate Programs in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences:
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: Some programs may require specific subjects at the Class 12th level (e.g., History, Political Science).
  • Undergraduate Programs in Science (e.g., B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biology):
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: Specific subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology may be required depending on the program.
  • Undergraduate Programs in Commerce (e.g., B.Com):
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: Some programs may require Mathematics as a subject in Class 12th.
  • Engineering and Technology Programs:
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: Usually require Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12th.
  • Medical and Health Sciences Programs:
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: Typically require Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in Class 12th.
  • Law Programs (Integrated 5-year BA LLB):
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: Usually open to students from any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science).
  • Design and Fine Arts Programs:
    • General Requirement: Pass in Class 12th with a minimum percentage as specified by the university.
    • Subject Requirements: May require a portfolio or specific entrance test in addition to CUET UG.
