CUET UG Course Details

The CUET UG is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various undergraduate programs in participating universities across India. Here are some key details about CUET UG:         

Its purpose is to provide a common platform for admission to undergraduate programs at various Central Universities, State Universities, and other institutions. 

The test covers a wide range of subjects, tailored to the programs offered by participating universities.

Eligibility:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed or appeared in the Class 12th examination (or equivalent) from a recognised board.
  • Age Limit: Generally, there is no specific age limit; however, candidates should check individual university requirements.

Exam Pattern:

  • Section I:
    • Section 1A: Language Test (commonly in 13 languages). 
    • Section 1B: Additional Language Test (optional).

Candidates must appear in at least one language from the following:

Arabic, Gujarati, Manipuri, Sindhi, Assamese, Hindi, Marathi, Spanish, Bengali, Italian, Nepali, Tamil, Bodo, Japanese, Odia, Telugu, Chinese, Kannada, Persian Tibetan, Dogri ,Kashmiri, Punjabi, Urdu, English, Konkani, Russian, French Maithili, Sanskrit, German, Malayalam, Santhali.

  • Section 2: Section 2 of the CUET exam focuses on domain-specific subjects tailored to the requirements of various courses offered by different universities. There are 29 domain subjects available. These subjects are: Accountancy, Agriculture,  Anthropology, Art Education Painting and Sculpture, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Sanskrit Domain, Sociology, Tourism Physics, Teaching Aptitude, Engineering Graphics, Environmental Studies, Geography/Geology, History, Home Science, Fashion Studies,Knowledge Traditions, Legal Studies, Mass Media, Mathematics, Performing Arts, Psychology,   Physical Education and Political Science.
  • Section 3: General Test (for general awareness, logical reasoning, and analytical ability).
  • Type of Questions: Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).

Syllabus:

  • Language Test: Based on the syllabus of the language in which the test is taken.
  • Domain-Specific Subjects: Based on the syllabus of the subjects related to the chosen domain.
  • General Test: Includes general knowledge, current affairs, logical reasoning, and quantitative aptitude.
